Double 6 - 1: The camera as the paintbrush

Toronto artist Balint Zsako met Henrik Drescher about three years ago. Both artists have admired each other's work. Henrik, an established artist sojourning in Asia and China, took Balint to travel to remote parts of China when Balint was invited to show in Hong Kong in 2005. They have developed a keen friendship.

Early this year LEE Ka-sing invited Balint to do the Double 6 show and paired him up with Henrik. In response to Henrik's drawing, Balint has produced a series of new work that involved found negatives transferred and transformed by hand, and finally projected onto photographic papers.
